The removal itself is not painful as we work with local anesthesia or, if desired, sedation. After the procedure, swelling and discomfort may occur, but these can be well managed with pain medication and cooling. Most patients report that pain significantly decreases after 3-5 days.

Wisdom teeth usually emerge between ages 17 and 25. Removal at a younger age is often easier because the roots are not yet fully developed and healing is faster. However, wisdom teeth can be removed at any age if there are medical reasons.
